IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
You will automatically receive a Home screen update if your TV model is listed below, connected to the network, and if you're logged in to your Google Account.
Tutorials for these changes will be shown on the Home screen on the first launch after the upgrade. Use the remote control supplied with your TV and press the White button on the screen to see more information.
In Ireland, only the Highlights feature is added. Use the remote control supplied with your TV and press the White button on the screen to see more information.
Overview of changes on the Home screen
Tab based navigation will be added to the Home screen, creating a new interface with a dedicated space for recommendations. The tab types are Home, Discover and Apps.
Home Tab
The Home screen basically remains the same with only the left-hand icons removed for consistency across tabs. Press the HOME button on the remote control to open the Home tab.
Discover Tab
Recommendation titles are organised by topic or theme based on watch history, interests, and new trends.
Apps Tab
The existing Apps view will change to a tab-based experience, helping you to find your apps more easily and show user-installed apps. The Google Play Store is still used to access or download more apps. If your remote control has an APPS button, pressing the APPS button will open this Apps tab.
Highlights
Highlights show a mix of staff picks and sponsored content. Media & Entertainment content only. You can click and enter the content from Highlights.
Note that Highlights can't be hidden.
