How to update pre-installed apps on Google TV or Android TV (e.g., Netflix or YouTube)

If the Google Play™ Store app is set to Auto-update apps at any time (default), pre-installed apps on your Android TV™ or Google TV™, such as Netflix® or YouTube™ streaming services, are generally updated automatically.

Check the settings using the following procedure:

1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME or Quick Settings ( or ) button, depending on the model, then select  Settings.
2. The next steps vary depending on your TV. Select the steps that best match your TV menu options:
   • Select Apps → See all apps → Google Play Store (under SYSTEM APPS) → Open, then move the cursor to select your profile icon (an image or letter) in the upper-right or upper-left of the screen, and then select Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
   • Select  Apps → Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
   • Select Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
   • Steps from the Google Play Store profile.
     1. Select Google Play Store. If necessary, select Apps first, depending on your TV menu.
     2. Select your profile icon (an image or letter) in the upper-right or upper-left of the screen.
     3. Select Manage apps and games.
     4. Select Updates.
     5. You can select any listed app to update or select Update all.
        Note: To check your settings for automatic updates, go back to your Google Play Store profile and select Settings. There you can view or change the settings for Auto-update apps at any time or Don't auto-update apps.
3. Press the Back button to return to a previous menu or the TV button to exit the menu.
