If your AV receiver does not turn on after a firmware update, the update may have been interrupted (for example, due to a power cut or a disconnected cable).
In most cases, the receiver is not broken—it is waiting to resume and complete the update.
How to resume and complete the AV receiver update
- Unplug the receiver
- Disconnect the power cable
- Wait at least 1 minute
- Plug it back in
- Use the supplied power cable and reconnect the receiver to the power outlet
- Wait
- After a few minutes, you may hear a soft “click” from inside the unit
- This is normal
- Check the power light
- If the LED near the power button starts blinking, the update is continuing automatically
- If the light stays solid, wait about 5 minutes and continue
- Let the update finish
- This can take 5 to 30 minutes
- Do not unplug or press any buttons during this time
- When it’s done
- The front display will show “COMPLETE”
- Wait another 3 minutes for the receiver to restart
What to expect
- The receiver may appear unresponsive at first
- Lights may blink or stay on for a while
- This is part of the recovery process
