How to disable or exit Demo Mode on your BRAVIA TV

    Demo Mode is often used by retailers to display the functionality and features of a TV. However, this setting may also limit some of the features and functions you would commonly use with your TV at home.

    In this article, we'll show you how to disable or exit Demo Mode so you can enjoy the full range of features your TV has to offer.

    The steps to disable or exit Demo Mode depend on the design of your TV. Select a model type below that best matches the description of your TV:

    How to set Demo mode and Picture reset mode to Off:

    1. Open the  Settings screen.
    2. The next steps will depend on your TV model, Android operating system, and screen menu options:
      • Select System → Retail mode settings → Set Demo mode and Picture reset mode to Off.
      • Select Device Preferences → Retail mode settings → Set Demo mode and Picture reset mode to Off.
      • Select Retail mode settings → Set Demo mode and Picture reset mode to Off.

        Note: The image above is only an example. The screen varies depending on your TV model and installed operating system.

    Note: Depending on the model, you can also cancel Demo Mode by holding down the TV button located on the side of the TV.

    How to set Demo Mode and Picture Reset Mode to Off:

    1. Press the HOME button on the remote.
    2. Select Image Settings on the HOME screen.

    3. Select Image Preferences or System Settings.

      • If your TV model requires you to choose Preferences, go directly to Step 4.
      • If your TV model requires you to choose System Settings, select General Set-up, then go to Step 4.

    4. Select Shop Front Display Setting.

    5. Demo Mode and Picture Reset Mode are displayed.

    How to disable or exit Demo Mode:

    1. Perform a factory reset
      Note: A factory reset erases your current TV settings and requires setting up the TV again.
    2. After completing the factory reset, the initial setup screen will appear.
    3. During the initial setup, select Home on the Location screen.

    Other BRAVIA TVs 


    If the TV has a HOME or MENU button on the back or side of the TV:

    • To turn off Demo Mode, press and hold the HOME or MENU button on the TV for more than 10 seconds. The message Demo mode: Off will appear on the screen.
    • If holding the HOME or MENU button does not work, press and hold the CH/INPUT button for 10 seconds.

    If the TV does not have a HOME or MENU button on the TV itself:

    • To turn off Demo Mode, press and hold the CH/INPUT button on the TV for more than 10 seconds. The message Demo mode: Off will appear on the screen.
    • If holding the CH/INPUT button does not work, try the steps below to disable Demo Mode:
      1. On the remote control, press the HOME or MENU button.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Setup.
      4. Select Initial Setup and follow the on-screen instructions.
        Important: One of the steps during the Initial Setup is to set the viewing environment. Make sure you select HOME when doing this step.

    Note: The Demo Mode setting can also be turned off by resetting the TV to the factory default.
