McAfee and VAIO have identified a possible issue with McAfee Online Backup (MOBK) which may cause an Explorer error. If you encounter this issue we advise you to follow the steps mentioned below.
Steps
Click Start button, type without quotes ‘View all problem reports’ in the Start search box and then press Enter
Navigate to where the problems for Windows Explorer are mentioned
Double-click on a report about Windows Explorer (Explorer.exe) has stopped working to view the problem details
Check if the error message ‘FaultModuleMode : MOBK649shell.dll’ appears in ‘Problem details’.
If yes, then follow your preferred option:
Option 1: activate your McAfee Online Backup 30 day free subscription (icon in VAIO Gate).Your unit will be automatically updated with the new version of McAfee Online Backup and you enjoy a 30 day subscription for free.
Option 2: uninstall McAfee Online Backup from Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > McAfee Online Backup.
