Red LED light on the MDR-RF895RK charger doesn't turn off

The MDR-RF895RK headphones require seven to nine hours to charge fully. During this time, the red LED on the transmitter remains lit. The red charging LED on the transmitter doesn't represent the battery charging level but is meant to indicate that the transmitter is within a charging cycle. That's why every time the headphones are removed and placed back on the transmitter, the red LED will light up for another seven to nine-hour cycle. It also means that even a gentle bump on the headphones while on the transmitter can cause one or both contact pins to move and technically restart the charging cycle.
