How can I find support information about the remote control bundled with my TV?
You can find information about your TV’s bundled remote control by going to model-specific TV information on the support site.
Step 1: Find your TV’s model name
The model name – a series of letters and numbers – can be found on the product box, user manual and the TV’s user settings. Here are a few examples of some TV models:
- KDL‐32BX420
- KDL-43W809C
- KD-55XD8599
For more details on how to find your exact model name, please see:

Step 2: Search for the model name on the support site
Type in your TV’s model name into the search bar. The full name should automatically appear in the auto-suggest menu, once you start typing. Click on the model to go directly to the product page, or click the “search” button to find the best possible matches, and choose a TV.
NOTE: If you are not sure whether your remote is the bundled remote or another remote that was sold separately, try typing in the model name of the remote control.
If your remote is a standalone product, the model page of the remote will be shown in the search results.
The model name is either on the front of the remote control or inside the battery compartment/cover.
The model name starts with “RM”.
Step3: Go to your TV’s model page
Once you’re on the TV’s product page, you can see the basic information about the remote in the Reference Guide or Operating Instructions.
It shows you the buttons and the functions available.*
Also, by typing in keywords such as “remote” or “remote control” in the search box, you can find related articles.
*The remote control shape, location, availability and function of remote control buttons may vary depending on your region/country/TV model.
