What is Netflix calibrated mode and how to turn it on or off?

    The Netflix calibrated mode on your Google TV™ or Android TV™ lets you experience picture quality close to a filmmaker's vision and intent. Follow the instructions below to turn it on or off.

    Steps for Google TVs and Android TVs released after 2019

    Applicable TV models

    • 2025 models: BRAVIA 8 II (XR80M2), BRAVIA 5 (XR50)
    • 2024 models: BRAVIA 7 (XR70), BRAVIA 8 (XR80), BRAVIA 9 (XR90)
    • 2023 models: A95L, A80L_A83L_A84L, X95L, X90L series
    • 2022 models: A95K, A90K, A80K_A83K_A84K, A75K, X95K, X90K_X92K_X93K_X94K (55-85), X90K_X92K_X90S_X94S (50), Z9K series
    • 2021 models: X95J, Z9J, X90J_X92J_X93J_X94J (50-75, 100), A90J, A80J_A83J_A84J series
    • 2020 models: A9, A8, ZH8, XH95 (55, 65, 75), XH95 (49, 85), XH90_XH92 series
    • 2019 models: ZG9, AG9, XG95 series

    Turn Netflix calibrated mode on or off

    1. Launch Netflix.
    2. On the supplied remote control, press the Quick Settings (spanner or gear) button.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select Display & Sound.
    5. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Picture & Sound → Picture, then set Netflix calibrated mode to ON or OFF.
      • Select Picture, then set Netflix calibrated mode to ON or OFF.
    Notes:
    • If the Netflix calibrated mode is set to ON, the Picture mode settings become greyed out.
    • If you want to select other Picture mode settings, follow steps 1 to 6 above to turn off the Netflix calibrated mode.

    Steps for AF9 and ZF9 series (2018 models)

    Turn Netflix calibrated mode on or off

    1. Launch Netflix.
    2. Press the ACTION MENU button on the supplied remote control.
    3. The next step depends on how the menu is displayed on the screen.
      1. When the menu is displayed on the bottom of the screen (Quick Settings):
        1. Select Settings.
        2. Select Display & Sound.
        3. Select Picture.
        4. Set Netflix calibrated mode to ON or OFF.
      2. When the menu is displayed on the top of the screen (Action Menu)
        1. Select Picture adjustments.
        2. Set Netflix calibrated mode to ON or OFF.
    Notes:
    • If the Netflix calibrated mode is set to ON, the Picture mode settings become greyed out.
    • If you want to select other Picture mode settings, follow the steps above to turn off the Netflix calibrated mode.
