BBC iPlayer's picture quality selection on Sony's Android TV

The BBC iPlayer app on Sony's Android TV uses adaptive bitrate streaming. This process provides the best picture quality on your behalf, without any additional input or calibration required.

You can either select "Best Quality", providing you with the optimum picture quality that your TV is capable of streaming from the network server, or the regular "Standard definition" option.

NOTE:

• It may take a while for your TV to receive the ideal picture when using the "Best Quality" setting. Please wait a few minutes for streaming on the app to improve.
• If the issue persists even after trying the above, the problem may be coming from BBC iPlayer directly.
