How to change your default Internet browser in Windows 10
If you choose to install Windows 10, you will have access to Microsoft Edge, a new Internet browser which replaces Internet Explorer. Do note however that if you're upgrading to Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows, Edge will actually become your new default Internet browser, no matter which default browser you were previously using.
If you wish to go on using another browser as your default browser - such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. - you will need to go through the following steps:
- Go to Start, and on the Start Menu, select Settings. Then, choose System.
- Select the Default apps tab, then scroll down until you find Web browser.
- Click or tap on the browser that's currently listed as your default (typically Microsoft Edge) and select your preferred browser from the list.
NOTE: Make sure the browser you want to use is correctly installed. Only browsers which are installed on your computer will be displayed in the list.
