How long does it take to perform a software update for my Sony's Android TV?

A software update takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete. You will not be able to use the TV while the update is ongoing.

WARNING: There is a risk of hardware damage:

• During the installation of the update, do not power off the TV or disconnect it from the AC power outlet.
  
• Loss of power during the installation of the firmware update may cause the TV set to become unresponsive or require a repair.

A spinning arrow will be displayed on the TV screen, indicating that the software update is currently being processed. As long as the software update is ongoing, the below screen will display on your TV, and the LED light of your TV will be blinking. The screen varies depending on your firmware version.

 


NOTE: During the Initial Setup, you have the option to start the software update at a later time by pressing selecting Update later. In this case, the System update screen will display on the screen the next time you turn on the TV.
