Why does video playback automatically stop after several seconds?
If the PlayTo window opens on your PC while using Windows Media Player 12, the playback function will not operate correctly. Close the PlayTo window and try again.

When I change the HDMI settings to "Original Resolution" for my 1080p/24p TV, the playback function for my Blu-ray Disc / DVD is interrupted
There's a slight discrepancy on screen using video playback if the disc and resolution do not match. This is because the device has matched the video output to the disc's standard resolution. Set the video output to Auto to disable this function.

What should I do if I've connected my PS3 and TV via HDMI  but I can't see any picture when playing my Blu-ray Disc?
The HDMI settings for your PS3 will not be automatically adjusted. Manually change the resolution by going to the settings menu on your PS3.

Why can't I see anything on my TV screen when I connect my Blu-ray Disc player via HDMI?
    Try going through this checklist:

    • Connect the HDMI cable
    • Select HDMI input
    • Ensure that you have the right resolution settings for your TV
    • If  there is a problem with the resolution settings, you can revert the TV back to its factory default setting
      • For example, [Output video Resolution] set to "1080p" or "Original Resolution" might cause a problem. In this case, press and hold the VOLUME(-) and PLAY buttons on the system for more than 10 seconds to reset the video output to the lowest resolution setting.

Can my Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System play 3D discs?
Yes, your Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System supports 3D functionality, but check that your TV supports this feature as well.

I'm having problems using Blu-ray Disc (BD) Live; the service is very inconsistent and occasionally stops
The performance of BD Live depends on the speed of your network connection. This may vary during any particular BD Live session.

    I can't stop Blu-ray Disc (BD) Live
Certain content is difficult to stop once BD Live has been activated. Try pushing the STOP button to return to the XrossMediaBar (XMB) menu.

The screen is black and it takes a while for BD Live to start
Depending on the type of content you're trying to watch, the system might need a little time to load. Try loading the content again after a few minutes.

I'm not sure if BD Live is working properly
The connection to BD Live depends on the speed of your internet connection and the type of content you are trying to view. In most cases, BD Live will resume after a short period. Therefore, please wait a few moments before trying to use the service again.

I can't get my unit to operate BD Live
Check that the following items / steps are in place:

    • The USB memory device is inserted
    • The network connection is functional
      • Go to [Setup] > [Network Settings] > [Network Connection Diagnostics] to confirm you are connected to the internet.

NOTE: An internet connection is necessary for BD-Live to work

My unit won't play any of my discs
Try wiping the reading surface of the disc with a soft cloth, such as a cleaning or lens cloth, and try using the disc again.

Can I play Super Audio CD?
Yes, Super Audio CD is supported.

    Is DualDisc playback supported?
DVDs with DualDisc playback capabilities can be played on compatible devices. However, the majority of CDs don't have this feature.

I can't see all of the subtitles when using DVD playback
Part of the subtitle information may be outside of the screen area when a 16:9 DVD display is combined with a 4:3 aspect ratio (Letterbox format). To eliminate this issue, make sure the following settings are in place:

    • Set the TV to 4:3 aspect ratio
    • Ensure that the Blu-ray Disc video output is also set to 480i screen resolution

I can't playback some Blu-ray Discs that support BD Live
Certain Blu-ray Discs that support BD Live require local storage to play even if you're using BD Live at that moment. Since BD Home Theatre Systems do not have built-in memory, you need to insert an external memory device to play these discs. Insert a 1 GB or larger USB memory device.

I cannot set disc to repeat
Some discs might not be able to use the repeat function. This depends on the particular disc and options available shown in the XrossMediaBar (XMB) menu.

The HDMI jack outputs only display a 480p / 576p video signal
    Try following these steps:

When I move the cursor across the XrossMediaBar (XMB), a trail of yellow or 'ghosting' remains on the display
Your TV's noise reduction setting may be causing this ghosting effect. Try cancelling this particular setting first.

The display bar information shows up on the screen when the TV program changes or when I switch channels
    Follow these steps:

    • Change the Auto Display feature to Off.
      • [Home] > [Setup] > [System Setting] > [Auto Display] > [Off]

NOTE: Even if Auto Display is Off, you can display the information when you press DISPLAY on the remote.

The disc won't play even after I've cleaned it
