Sony Professional Solutions Europe co-operates with ‘UbiCast’ - Europe’s leader in video capture and streaming for educational and corporate establishments
A creative digital solution for sharing interactive Rich Media content, bringing flexibility to teaching
Basingstoke, 5th September 2017: Sony Professional Solutions Europe has today announced a co-operation with third party partner ‘UbiCast’ - Europe’s leader in lecture capture solutions. This innovative collaboration comes with the desire from Sony to create an enriched learning experience, in any environment. The integration of Ubicast solutions with Sony’s portfolio offers higher education establishments increased capabilities to capture lectures and presentations, both with striking quality and easy to operate simplicity.
Lecture capture is getting more popular across higher education as a way to enable flexibility of tuition for students and increased participation. Traditionally, students had to attend a University lecture face-to-face, which limited time, geographic flexibility and its engagement level. With Sony and UbiCast’s new co-operation, more flexible and effective learning can be achieved effortlessly and with exceptional image quality, helping to revolutionise the way students disseminate and digest information.
Sony and UbiCast’s lecture capture offerings allow lectures to be shared across multi-rooms, capturing audio, video and presentation data, whilst also having one central video distribution platform to facilitate live streaming of lectures or on-demand webinars, conferences and events in informative, interactive and engaging ‘Rich Media’ format.
Offering far greater flexibility and convenience, students can choose when and where to learn…with important seminars and studies able to be accessed on demand, ultimately increasing lecture participation and attendance rates. In addition to this, following the easy process of recording the session, all the post-processing can be done automatically. Simple slide navigation can be added, as well as making the content searchable by metadata, making learning more efficient and user friendly; ideal for recapping lectures for essay and exam preparation at a later date.
Sony has already begun to partner with and install these solutions in some prestigious higher education institutions across Europe.
Commenting on this co-operation, Tanguy Yu, UbiCast Founder and VP for Business Development, said: “We’re excited to be working with Sony to bring an improved learning experience to students across Europe. By equipping Universities to teach pupils in the most effective way we are in-turn providing students with increased opportunities to learn and succeed.
Kenji Izu, Product Manager at Sony Professional, said: “Students are the driving force behind changes in education based technology. Co-operating with UbiCast has enabled Sony to provide Universities with the ability to facilitate students’ increasing desire to not only learn remotely, but to watch and re-watch content further down the line, assisting with essay writing, idea-sharing between groups and solo exam preparations.”
Sony has initially formed this co-operation with UbiCast to bring greater value to its customers in the higher education space. Always looking for ways to solve customer pain points or new challenges, Sony is now exploring the potential for the use of similar solutions in a corporate environment offering live or on-demand learning to a company’s employees, clients or partners.
