Basingstoke, 9th September 2016- tpc Switzerland ag, a broadcast service provider based in Zurich, has deployed Media Backbone Conductor, Sony’s media operations (integration, resource prioritisation and workflow orchestration) platform. tpc, which supports technical production activities across Schweizer Radio Group’s (SRG SSR) television, radio and multimedia output, will integrate a number of existing production ‘islands’ with a bespoke instance of Media Backbone Conductor hosted off-premise in a third party datacenter.
​ tpc selected Qvest Media, a broadcast and media systems architect, as prime contractor for this project. From now on, tpc is set to enjoy significant operational benefits, increased automation and efficiency across its workflows, as well as reduced reliance on complex, error-prone manual operations. tpc’s deployment of Media Backbone Conductor is set to go live in May of this year.

Sony and Qvest’s teams have worked together during the design and integration phases, with Sony Professional Services remotely deploying, configuring and testing the off-premise Media Backbone Conductor in the third party’s datacenter. In addition to demonstrating the operating capabilities of the off-premise third party datacenter as part of an initial proof of concept mini-project, Sony’s PrimeSupport team has been engaged to act as ‘front line support’ for tpc to overcome any technical issues or downtime at source.
