Madrid, 30 September 2015: Atresmedia, the largest Spanish media and communication group, has approved Sony XDCAM HD cameras for the project to update their ENG equipment to High Definition. The project focuses on the technical improvement of news coverage and the production of news programmes. This update could involve the use, through their service companies, of more than 100 cameras in the XDCAM range, including models PXW-X320, PXW-X200 and PXW-X180.

The Sony cameras share the XDCAM HD 50 MBps recording format, established as a standard for the exchange of High Definition files between broadcasters and supported by all subsystems of the news production environment. In addition, thanks to their compatibility with XAVC Long GOP, Sony's cameras will allow Atresmedia to achieve higher image quality and to save bandwidth and storage capacity.

The PXW-X320 was announced in April at the NAB Show and incorporates next-generation features. This is an ENG shoulder-mount camera with three 1/2" Exmor CMOS sensors and Full HD resolution, reaching a sensitivity of F12 at 50 Hz and a S/N ratio of 60 dB. A 3.5" high-resolution viewfinder and 1/2" 16x optical zoom are supplied as standard. Through the CBK-WA101 wireless adapter, which connects to the side of the camera, it can perform video and audio transmission in real time (Live Streaming) as well as file transfer (High Resolution or Proxy) via FTP using 3G/4G networks and WiFi. In addition, it is possible to incorporate image quality mechanisms (Quality of Service, QoS) for Live Streaming transmissions using the Sony PWS-100RX1 receiver box.

The PXW-X200 is the handheld camera with the most advanced capabilities on the market, with three 1/2" Exmor CMOS sensors and Full HD resolution, allowing you to reach a sensitivity of F13 at 50 Hz and a S/N ratio of 58 dB. It is very light, weighing only 2.4 kg, and incorporates a High Definition 17x optical zoom with independent rings for focus, zoom and iris, as well as end stops and markings with absolute values for precise adjustment.

The PXW-X180 comes equipped with three 1/3" Exmor CMOS sensors and Full HD resolution, allowing you to obtain a S/N ratio of 60 dB, and has a High Definition 25x optical zoom with 26 mm wide angle.
