How to control your TV using the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app or Google TV™ app

With the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app, you can:

• Operate the remote control (powering on/off, adjusting the volume, switching the input, etc.)
  • When changing the channel: Some operations may not be possible depending on the connected device.
  • When recording: This option is only available when a recording device such as an external HDD is connected.
• Control your TV and speaker simultaneously with your smartphone by registering an additional supported speaker.
• Get the latest support information (Q&A) for your registered TV and soundbar from the app's Help section.

Check out our brief introduction to the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app below (for 2024 or later models):

1. Download and install the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
   
   
   
2. Create a Sony account. You need it to sign in to the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.
3. Connect your TV and smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network.
4. Set up your TV with the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.
   Launch the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app installed on your smartphone and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your TV.
5. Sign in with your Sony account.
   When the sign-in screen appears:
   Tap Sign in → Enter your Sign-In ID (email address) → Tap Next to sign in. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   
6. Complete the setup.
   Once the setup is complete, the TV will appear on the app screen. Tap Done to confirm.
   

• Tap the Remote tab to control your TV from your smartphone screen.
  
• Use the touchpad to control the remote in the app using "swipe" and "tap" gestures. This replaces the arrow and Enter buttons on the BRAVIA TV remote, letting you select items and move up, down, left, and right on the TV screen.
  
  Hint: Swiping means pressing your finger on the smartphone screen and sliding your finger up, down, left, and right, as shown in image A. Simply slide your finger over the touchpad to quickly move the focus on the TV screen, and tap to select (image B).

With the Google TV app, you can operate the remote control from your smartphone, including:

• Powering the TV on/off
• Adjusting the volume
• Using voice control
• Navigating the Home screen
• Inputting text on the TV screen

1. Download and install the Google TV app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
   
   
   
2. Connect your TV and smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Launch the Google TV app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your TV.
4. When the app displays how many TVs are connected to the same network, select the model you want to register.
5. Enter the pair code shown on your TV into your smartphone, then tap Pair to complete the setup.
   
6. Tap the remote control icon to launch the remote control on your smartphone.
   

• Tap the "Google Assistant" button to search for features and control your TV using your voice.
  
• Tapping the  (Home) button will display the TV's Home screen.
  
• To navigate, swipe around the navigation pad on your smartphone screen. To select something, tap the white circle on the navigation pad.
