Glossary:
- Bidirectional/unidirectional: Bidirectional means the microphone captures sound from two opposite directions (i.e. front and back). Unidirectional means it picks up sound from only one location (i.e. front).
- Noise cancellation: This feature blocks out unwanted external noises so you can focus on your gameplay.
- 360 Spatial Sound: This feature supports 360-degree audio coverage, meaning you can hear sounds from all around, allowing you to better detect the distance and location of your opponents.
- Ambient Sound Mode: This feature keeps you aware of important sounds (e.g. phone call, doorbell, nearby voices, etc.) while gaming. It allows you to switch between noise cancelling and ambient sound by pressing a button on the headset.
- GAME/CHAT volume balance: This feature lets you adjust the volume balance between game sounds and voice chat. Pressing the GAME button means voice chat will be quieter, making game sounds easier to hear. Pressing the CHAT button means game sounds will be quieter, making voice chat easier to hear.
- Discord Certified: This means the headset is perfectly suitable for Discord interactions, including voice chat, video, and text communication with friends.
- Simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connection: This feature allows you to connect to devices such as your smartphone via Bluetooth, and to your PC or PS5 via a USB transceiver/audio box.

Sound
What is the difference between 360 Reality Audio and 360 Spatial Sound for gaming?
360 Reality Audio: This audio format utilises 360 Spatial Sound technology to deliver a truly immersive music experience. It expertly captures individual sounds such as bass, piano, vocals, etc. and makes you feel as if you’re at a live concert or recording studio.
360 Spatial Sound: This technology is optimised for gaming. It delivers excellent audio thanks to its ability to capture sounds from all around you, allowing you to better detect the distance and location of your opponents.
The INZONE H9/H7/H3 gaming headsets feature a unidirectional boom microphone, which you can position closer to your mouth for clear voice communication. The bidirectional boom microphone on the H5 features a similar (but more adept) design that captures your voice perfectly while filtering out excess ambient noises.
Flipping the microphone up puts it on MUTE and makes it easier to store away. Flipping it down turns the mic back ON. Simply adjust its position (e.g. higher or lower) and you’re ready to start your next gaming session.
What if my microphone isn’t working?
There are different reasons why your microphone may not be working properly:
You may need to change the INZONE Hub settings
Open the INZONE Hub software on your PC. If you don’t already have it installed, you can download it here. You can then perform a mic test and view/adjust different settings such as the:
- Microphone volume
- Sidetone feature
- Input level (i.e. Auto Gain Control)
- ON/OFF status of the microphone
Note: Please check that you have the latest INZONE Hub software version installed. This will ensure an overall better experience and can often resolve a number of headset issues.
You may need to adjust the GAME/CHAT settings
The sound settings are disabled when the audio output device on your PC is set to CHAT (e.g. INZONE H9 – CHAT). For best results, ensure the output is set to GAME (e.g. INZONE H9 – GAME).
You’re connected to a PC or PS5 via Bluetooth
Certain sound settings (e.g. Equalizer, Spatial Sound) are disabled when you connect your headphones to your computer or console via Bluetooth. These settings remain active only when the headphones are connected to the device using the USB transceiver, with the switch set to either PC or PS5.
Your microphone is affected by ambient or distorted sounds
Follow the troubleshooting steps below:
- To help block out external noises, you can try adjusting the input level of the microphone (i.e. Auto Gain Control) via the INZONE Hub software installed on your PC.
- Try to keep your headset a considerable distance from other mobile devices, electric light lines, and fluorescent lights, as these can affect your microphone’s ability to pick up sound.
- If you’re using a video chat app (e.g. Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.), the sound quality may drop depending on the status of the communication line.
Does the microphone pick up external noises?
The headset’s microphone is designed to reduce external sounds for clear and uninterrupted voice communication. However, some ambient noises may still be heard depending on your surroundings.
Note: The noise-cancelling feature is best for noise in low-frequency areas such as an office, a plane/ train, or near an air conditioner. Noise in higher frequencies (e.g. human voices) may be picked up by the microphone.
Do INZONE headsets use DSEE technology?
No, DSEE technology is not supported.
Is the sound optimised for PS5?
Yes, the INZONE H9/H7/H5 gaming headsets feature PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech to deliver a gaming experience with great spatial realism. What’s more, you can adjust settings such as the GAME/CHAT volume balance straight from your headset and see the changes reflected in real time on your screen in the PS5 Control Center.
Note: Keep in mind that certain sound and microphone settings won’t work when your headphones are connected to a device via Bluetooth. Please use the USB transceiver to connect wirelessly to your PC or PS5.
What can I expect after analyzing my ear shape via the Spatial Sound Personalizer app?
The Spatial Sound Personalizer offers a personal touch to your audio experience. By analyzing your ear shape, this app adapts your Spatial Sound settings for a listening experience unique to you. These results are then stored in your account and can be accessed on supported devices.
Refer to this article for more details: How to set up the headphones using the INZONE Hub software.
Note: This feature is only applicable to certain Sony-supported devices. For best results, please ensure you have the latest version of the app installed on your smartphone.
What is the sound quality like when playing different types of games (e.g. FPS/TPS, RPG)?
In addition to localisation accuracy, the sound on your headset is also designed to create a more immersive audio experience. Therefore, you can enjoy realistic sounds no matter the game type, whether it’s an FPS/TPS or RPG.
Additionally, you can adjust the Equalizer setting using the INZONE Hub software. This means you can customise the sound quality to your liking (e.g. further emphasising the bass).
How many sound profiles can I create?
You may create up to 256 sound profiles.
- Open the INZONE Hub software on your PC.
- Go to Sound Settings > Sound Profile.
- Use the drop-down menu to select your desired sound profile.
Note: You can save the sound settings for each headset.
How do I adjust the Sidetone feature on my gaming headset?
You can adjust the Sidetone feature on the H9 headset via the INZONE Hub software on your PC. Any changes you make will reflect on your connected device (e.g. PS5).
- Open the INZONE Hub software.
- Go to Sound Settings > Microphone Settings > Sidetone.
- Slide the bar to your desired level (e.g. slide to the right to increase the level, or left to lower it).
Connectivity and compatibility
Can I connect the headset to a PC or PS5 via Bluetooth? Or do I need to use the USB adapter?
Yes, a wireless connection is possible. However, it’s recommended to use the USB adapter (transceiver) to connect wirelessly to these devices. This is because certain settings are disabled when you connect to your PC or PS5 via Bluetooth (i.e. Equalizer, Spatial Sound, etc.).
Click the links below for more details on how to connect to a PC or PS5 using the USB adapter:
Will Bluetooth support a 2-device multipoint connection?
No, a multipoint connection for Bluetooth is not supported. But since it supports a simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connection, it is possible to connect two devices (PC + PS5) at the same time. However, keep in mind that connecting your headset to a PC or PS5 via Bluetooth will disable certain sound settings (e.g. Spatial Sound, Dynamic Range Control).
Can I connect the headset to my smartphone using the cable?
Yes, if you have a 3.5mm jack on your smartphone, you can connect your headset to it and hear sound. However, if the audio jack does not support the CTIA standard, the microphone won't work and you'll only be able to hear sound.
CTIA: Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association
Which devices are compatible with INZONE gaming headsets?
These headsets offer support for the following devices:
- Smartphone
- PC
- PS5
What Bluetooth version does the headset use?
The INZONE H9/H7/H5 gaming headsets utilise Bluetooth version 5.0.
You can view the full specifications below:
I understand that a Mac / Xbox is not supported, but what happens when I connect to these devices?
Unfortunately, the latest INZONE Hub software update available for PC is not compatible with a Mac computer. This means you won't be able to customise audio settings such as Spatial Sound and Dynamic Range Control.
Furthermore, these headsets are designed to work with your smartphone, PC, or PS5. While certain features (e.g. audio, microphone) may work if you connect using a 3.5mm jack, we cannot guarantee support for Xbox devices. A wireless connection via Bluetooth or the USB transceiver is not possible.
Functionality
Which sound formats are supported?
These models all boast 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming technology, which intensifies your spatial awareness and allows you to better detect your opponents in-game.
The INZONE H9/H7/H5 headsets additionally utilise PS5's Tempest 3D AudioTech for enhanced surround sound and a more focused gaming experience.
Why does the USB dongle have a PS5 / PC switch?
The USB transceiver allows you to switch between PC and PS5 because the audio output specifications on these devices are different, so selecting the corresponding platform is important.
Is it possible to export/import sound profiles?
Yes, you can save different sound profiles for each headset using the INZONE Hub software. After customising and saving your sound preferences (e.g. Equalizer parameters, stereophonic settings), a new folder is created for the profile and saved on your PC. You can copy the file to transfer the sound settings to a new PC.
Is Spatial Sound / Spatial Sound Personalization only available on PC with the INZONE Hub software?
Yes, you can turn Spatial Sound ON using the INZONE Hub software on your PC.
- Open the INZONE Hub software.
- Go to Sound Settings > Spatial Sound.
- Select ON to activate this feature, or OFF to disable it.
You can start the setup for Spatial Sound Personalization by following the steps below:
- Open the INZONE Hub software.
- Go to Sound Settings > Spatial Sound > ON.
- Select Settings under Sound field Personalization.
- A QR code will pop up. Scan the code to install the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app on your smartphone.
- You can sign in using your INZONE Hub account, or create a new one.
- Follow the steps in the app to start the personalization (i.e. analyze your ears). This process takes approximately 30 seconds.
- You can copy the settings included in your personalized sound profile by sharing the file between multiple PCs. You only need to create one profile if you sign in with the same account.
For more details on Spatial Sound and Spatial Sound Personalization, refer to this article: How to set up the headphones using the INZONE Hub software.
Note: Keep in mind that connecting your headset to a PC or PS5 via Bluetooth will disable the Spatial Sound setting. We recommend making a wireless connection using the USB transceiver.
