The TV screen brightness doesn’t adjust automatically

    If the screen on your TV looks too dark or too bright, you can improve it by adjusting the brightness settings.

    This article explains how to:

    • Enable the Auto luminance level feature
    • Check that the ambient light sensor isn’t blocked
    • Manually change the Brightness setting

    Enable the Auto luminance level feature

    The Auto luminance level feature uses your TV's ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the screen brightness based on how bright or dark your room is. 

    • If Auto luminence level is set to On, the TV automatically adjusts the brightness using the ambient light sensor.
    • If Auto luminence level is set to Off, the brightness stays fixed at whatever you've set manually.


    Follow these steps to enable the Auto luminance level feature:

    1. On your remote control, press the Quick Settings (spanner or gear) button and select  Settings.
    2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Display & Sound → Ambient Optimization Pro → Advanced settings → Auto luminance level.
      • Select Display & Sound → Picture → Ambient light sensor → Auto luminance level.
    3. Set Auto luminance level to On.

    Check the area around the TV

    The ambient light sensor is located near the bottom centre of the screen. Make sure the sensor isn't obstructed by any objects, such as a soundbar or TV stand.

    If something is blocking the ambient light sensor, your TV screen won't be able to adjust automatically to ambient lighting changes.

    Notes:

    • The brightness of the TV screen may not change due to reflected light.
    • If applicable, make sure the blue protective tape is removed from the sensor.

    Manually adjust the Brightness setting

    If you feel the screen is too bright or too dark, you can adjust the screen brightness manually from the picture quality settings:

    1. On your remote control, press the Quick Settings (spanner or gear) button and select  Settings.
    2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Display & Sound → Picture & Sound → Picture → Brightness.
      • Select Display & Sound → Picture → Brightness.
    3. Adjust the setting as desired.
