How to connect or reconnect your wireless or Voice command remote control to your TV

    If you are experiencing issues when using a wireless remote control, or when using the  (MIC) button/voice command function on your Voice command remote control, follow these steps to unpair and then re-pair the remote control, or perform the remote control pairing:

    Notes:

    • If you replace your voice command remote control, the new remote must be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • After updating the software of your TV, the remote may need to be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
    • Pairing can fail if the battery level is too low. If this is the case, replace the batteries with new ones before pairing.

    For Google TV™ or Android TV™ released in 2016 or later

    If you are using this type of remote control, follow these steps:

    1. Unpair the Voice command remote control from the TV:
      NOTE: If your TV is listed below, skip this step.
      Target model list
      1. Press the HOME button on the remote.
      2. Select  Settings.
      3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & AccessoriesBluetooth SettingsSONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001.
        • Select Bluetooth settingsSONY TV RC MIC 001 or SONY TV VRC 001.
      4. Select Unpair.
      5. Select OK.
    2. Pair or re-pair the Voice command remote control to the TV:
      1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access Settings
      2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Remotes & AccessoriesRemote control — Connect via Bluetooth or Activate  button.
        • Select Remote control — Connect via Bluetooth.
        • Select Voice Remote Control — Activate  button.
      3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
        NOTE: Pairing can fail if the battery level is too low. If this is the case, replace the batteries with new ones before attempting to pair again.

    For Android TV released in 2015

    If you are using this type of remote control, follow the steps below:

    1. Unpair the Voice command remote control (Touchpad Remote Control) from the TV:
      1. Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Bluetooth setting in the Network & Accessories category.
      4. Select Device list.
      5. Select SONY TV REMOTE 001.
      6. Select Unpair.
      7. Select OK.
    2. Pair or re-pair the Voice command remote control (Touchpad Remote Control) to the TV:
      1. Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Touchpad Remote Control settings in the Network & Accessories category.
      4. Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control.
      5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
