Dolby Digital Plus sound doesn't output from the device connected with the optical digital cable

This is a specification of the product. The TV is designed to mute audio from the Digital Audio Out (Optical) port when receiving Dolby Digital Plus audio. To enable Dolby Digital Plus on a Home Theater System, Sound Bar, or A/V Receiver, connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC port on your TV.
If you want to use the Digital Audio Out (Optical) port on your TV, you can listen to Dolby Digital sound following the steps below. If model-specific information is required to complete each step, check your manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- Set your TV speakers to Audio system.
- On your TV remote control, press the HOME button.
- Select
Settings.
- Select Audio system depending on your TV menu options:
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select BRAVIA Settings → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select Sound → Speakers → Audio system.
- If available on your TV model, set the Dolby Digital Plus output setting to Dolby Digital.
- On the remote, press the HOME button.
- Select
Settings.
- Select Dolby Digital depending on your TV menu options:
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Dolby Digital Plus output → Dolby Digital.
- Select Sound → Sound Adjustments or Sound → Advanced settings → Input related or Common → Dolby Digital Plus output → Dolby Digital.
