Warning regarding unauthorised software for Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera and Digital Still Camera

We recently became aware that unauthorised Sony software has been downloaded and used to modify specifications of our interchangeable Lens Digital Camera α™ and digital still camera Cyber-shot®. This usage has been publicised on some websites and Internet bulletin boards.

Such unauthorised software is not officially released by Sony, hence we are not in a position to assure its performance and operation.

Please note that if you use software downloaded from sources other than Sony's official website, its operation is not assured and your product will become exempted from the warranty service.
