The zoom does not work or works erratically (DSC)

If the zoom does not work as expected please check the following items:

• On certain compact camera models, the zoom does not work in movie mode. Check if the camera supports zooming while taking movies.
  
• Make sure you are using a genuine and compatible Sony battery which is sufficiently charged.
  
• When using the camera in a cold environment, condensation may occur when the camera is then moved to a warmer environment, preventing the camera from operating normally. If you have used your camera outside, wait a few hours in room temperature until the condensation has gone.
  
• You cannot use the optical zoom when:
  
• • Shooting in [iSweep Panorama]
  • Shooting in [3D Sweep Panorama]
  • Shooting in [Sweep Multi Angle]
    
• You cannot use zoom functions other than optical zoom in certain camera modes.

If the problem persists even after a reset or an abnormal mechanical noise is heard while using the zoom function, your device is probably out of order and a repair may be necessary. If you believe this to be the case, please contact us for further assistance.
