How to get sound from headphones and the TV speakers at the same time

    IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

    Before you start

    • Some TV models cannot output sound from both the headphones and the TV speakers at the same time. For details, refer to your TV manual.
    • Some Android TV™ models released after 2018 have different specifications. If your TV is listed in the following TV model list, please visit Listen to your TV through headphones and the TV speakers, soundbar, or another audio device instead:
      • 2021 models: A90J, A80J_A83J_A84J, X95J, X90J_X92J_X93J_X94J, X85J_X89J, X80J_X81J_X82J, Z9J series
      • 2020 models: XH80, XH81, XH85_XH91, XH90_XH92, XH95, ZH8, A8, A9 series
      • 2019 models: AG9, XG85_XG87, XG95, ZG9 series
      • 2018 models: AF9, ZF9 series

    How to set up the TV

    For Android TV (Except for the models listed below):

    1. Make sure your TV model is not on the following list: 
      • 2021 models: A90J, A80J_A83J_A84J, X95J, X90J_X92J_X93J_X94J, X85J_X89J, X80J_X81J_X82J, Z9J series
      • 2020 models: XH80, XH81, XH85_XH91, XH90_XH92, XH95, ZH8, A8, A9 series
      • 2019 models: AG9, XG85_XG87, XG95, ZG9 series
      • 2018 models: AF9, ZF9 series
    2. Using the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
    3. Select  Settings.
    4. The following steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Display & Sound — Audio output.
      • Select Sound.
    5. Select Headphone/Audio out.
    6. Select Audio out (Fixed).
    7. On the Remote control, press the BACK button.
    8. Select Headphone speaker link.
      Note:  If the Headphone speaker link is not shown, select Audio to both TV speakers & other device to enable it and skip Step 8.
    9. Select Speakers on.

    For other TVs:

    Note: The following steps are an example. For details, refer to your TV manual.

    1. Using the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Preferences or System Settings.
    4. Select Setup.
    5. Select AV Setup.
    6. Select Headphone/Audio out.
    7. Select Audio out.
    8. Press the BACK or RETURN button to go back to AV Setup.
    9. Select Audio out.
    10. Select Fixed.
