How to set up the camera to be remotely controlled with a smartphone

    The Imaging Edge Mobile (replaces PlayMemories Mobile™) app must be installed on your smartphone. Visit the Google Play™ store or Apple® store on your smartphone to download and install it.

    Remote control setup on your camera

    1. Turn on the camera.
    2. Press the MENU button.
    3. Select Ctrl with Smartphone.
      • The SSID and password are displayed on the camera LCD screen. 

    Configuring your smartphone

    Configure the smartphone to recognize the Wi-Fi signal from the camera.

    Android smartphone

    1. Start the Imaging Edge Mobile app.
    2. Select the SSID as displayed on the camera LCD screen. It starts with the word DIRECT followed by a combination of letters and numbers.
    3. Enter the password as displayed on the camera LCD screen.

    iOS® smartphone

    1. Go into Settings.
    2. Select Wi-Fi.
    3. Select Wi-Fi Network.
    4. Select the SSID as displayed on the camera LCD screen - It starts with the word DIRECT followed by a combination of letters and numbers.
    5. Enter the password as displayed on the camera LCD screen.
    6. Start the Imaging Edge Mobile app.
