Why can't images recorded on Memory Stick XC and SDXC memory cards be imported to my devices?

Images recorded on SDXC memory card cannot be imported to the computer or other device.

    The operation differ depending on the connection method to the computer.

    If connecting via a USB cable:

    1. Check whether the camera is recognized by the computer.

      1. On a Windows computer, open the PC or Computer window.

      2. Turn on the camera, and then connect the camera to the computer.

        NOTES:

        • Use the USB cable supplied with the camera.
        • If a USB CONNECT button is displayed on the monitor of the camera, touch that button.

      3. Perform the following steps to check if the camera is recognized by the computer:

        • For Windows: Check if an additional icon appears in the PC or Computer window.
        • For Mac: Check if an icon appears on the Desktop.

    2. Try inserting the cable into another USB terminal.

    3. Disconnect all USB devices other than the camera. Then, connect just the camera.

    4. Restart the computer.

    5. Set the USB transfer mode on the camera (USB Connect Setting) to Mass Storage.

      NOTES:

      • If only a specific camera is not recognized by the computer, or the camera is not recognized by the computer only when using a specific USB cable, there may be a problem with either the camera or the USB cable. Have the camera or USB cable inspected and repaired.
      • If no USB devices are recognized by the computer, there may be a problem with the computer. Consult the manufacturer of the computer.

    If using the memory card slot on the computer:

    Some types of memory cards cannot be read by the computer. For details on supported memory cards, consult the manufacturer of the computer.

    Perform the following steps to check if the memory card is working correctly:

    1. Remove the memory card, and wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth, etc.

    2. Make sure that the memory card is facing in the correct direction, and then reinsert it into the memory card slot on the computer.

    3. When using a card adapter, check Steps 1 and 2 with the memory card inserted into the adaptor.

    4. Restart the computer.

    If the issue is still unresolved, and the memory card is not recognized by the computer even though it can be read by the camera, consult the manufacturer of the computer.
