This high-performance full-frame zoom lens covers a 28-70 mm range that is often the first choice for scenery, portraits, snapshots and much more. Despite an ideal range and superb optical performance, its largest diameter is 72.5 mm and overall length is 83 mm. With a weight of just 293 g (10.4 oz.), this remarkable lens is a compact, mobile choice for day-to-day shooting.

Refined optics for lifelike rendering

Three aspherical elements combine with one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element to deliver excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range. Clear, lifelike rendering has been achieved without colour bleeding. A 7-blade circular aperture unit contributes to attractive, natural-looking bokeh.

The Breathing Compensation feature provided in α series bodies is also supported, greatly reducing distracting angle of view shifts and allowing smooth rack focusing.
