Developed by Sony, the Exmor T for mobile sensor on the Xperia 1 VI, together with AI processing, delivers picture quality equivalent to full-frame cameras, with less noise and wider dynamic range in low light, and videos full of cinematic colour expression.

Create content with a choice of lenses

The camera includes a wide-angle 24mm lens, new 48mm focal length, ultra-wide 16mm lens, and a new extended 85-170mm optical telephoto lens. All offer 4K HDR 120fps video recording, Real-time Eye AF and tracking, and ZEISS T anti-reflective coating. A 12MP front camera completes the set-up.

New true optical telephoto zoom lens

The 85mm focal length is ideal for professional portraits, capturing faces without distortion while the new zoom lens can zoom up to 170mm for sports and animal shooting. The tele-macro capability brings a beautiful bokeh effect to photos and videos - a solution that's unique to the Xperia 1 VI.

Pro photography, AI-assisted

For the first time, we bring to Xperia 1 series the Human pose estimation technology present in the latest Alpha cameras. This technology uses a skeleton-based model, enabling it to recognise not just eyes, but also body and head positions with high precision, so it can even lock onto and track a subject facing away from the camera or with their face partially obscured.
