There's a white or gold line at the bottom of my BRAVIA 8 (XR80 series) TV screen

Why can I see a white or gold line on my TV screen?

Some BRAVIA 8 (XR80 series) users may notice a thin white or gold line, or small dots, near the bottom of the TV screen. This can look unusual, but it is not a malfunction.

    What causes the line?

The line or dots are part of the TV’s internal circuit pattern. Depending on your viewing angle or the lighting in the room, the circuit can sometimes become visible as a white or gold line.

Will this affect my TV’s performance?

    No. The line or dots:

    • Do not affect the TV’s performance or lifespan.
    • Do not cause malfunctions over time.
    • Are not visible during normal viewing.

You can continue to enjoy your TV without concern.

Is it safe to touch the line?

Yes. The circuits are transparent and located inside the screen, so they cannot be touched. The TV remains completely safe to use.
