How to connect a smartphone to the TV with a USB cable and display content
Easily display your photos, music, and videos stored on an Android smartphone on your BRAVIA TV with a simple USB connection.
BRAVIA TVs produced before 2017 do not support this USB connection type.
Follow these steps to connect your smartphone and check the content with your TV's Media Player app.
Connecting your phone to the TV
- Connect your Android phone with the supplied USB cable. The current USB standard is USB-C, but micro-USB cables will also work.
- Set the Android phone's USB setting to "File Transfers" or "MTP mode." Some phones might do this automatically, but check the USB settings if you're unsure.
- Open the TV’s Media Player app.
- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- Navigate to Apps.
- Select Media Player
- The Media Player will recognise your smartphone as a USB drive (similar to when you connect a USB Hard Disk Drive).
