How to identify if there is a removable protective film
- Check your TV and packaging for these signs:
- A flyer with removal instructions (usually attached to the center of the screen)
- Tape tabs at the upper edges of the screen panel
- A flyer with removal instructions (usually attached to the center of the screen)
- If you see the tape tabs at the upper edges of the screen panel—even if you cannot find the flyer:
Your TV likely has a protective film that should be removed before use.
*The flyer may be loose in the box or missing. We recommend checking the packaging thoroughly for the flyer. - If you do not see tape tabs:
There is no protective film on the screen surface. Do not remove the surface material from the corners or sides of the panel.
How to remove the protective film (if your TV came with one)
If your TV includes the flyer and tape tabs at the edges of the screen panel, it has a protective film to help prevent scratches on the screen during shipping and handling.
Follow these instructions carefully to remove the protective film:
- Locate the piece of tape at the upper left and right edges of the TV screen. These serve as tabs for peeling the film off.
- Hold both tabs simultaneously and slowly peel off the protective film from top to bottom.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the film from side to side.
Friendly reminders
- Never attempt to remove the screen's surface unless you are sure a protective film is present.
- When in doubt, Contact us for assistance—removing the actual screen layer will cause permanent damage.
