Notes

Preparation

Check the Software Version of the Unit

Use the following procedure to check the software version. This update applies to software versions prior to version 2.00. An update is not required if running version 2.00.

  1. Display the Web App screen of the unit in a web browser.
    For details, see Accessing the Web App from a Web Browser in the Help Guide of the unit.
  2. Select Settings tab → MaintenanceInformation in the web menu.
  3. The Software version is displayed in CameraVersion Number.

Software Update Preparation

Required Devices

  • A tablet or computer running a supported operating system and web browser for accessing the Web App.
    For details, see Accessing the Web App from a Web Browser in the Help Guide of the unit.
  • Internet connection for downloading the update software.

Other Prerequisites

  • AC adaptor (supplied with the unit)
  • LAN cable(category 5e or higher)

The update will take about 30 minutes. Allow sufficient time before starting the update process.

Software Update Procedure

Notes:

  • A software update of the camera must be performed with the lens removed and the pan/tilt lock unlocked.
  • The software update should be performed with the supplied AC adapter with the camera or a PoE++ compatible power supply device connected to the camera.
  • Close all other running applications on your computer before starting the update.
  • Disable the sleep mode function of your computer beforehand.

Step 1: Download the Update File

  1. Connect your computer to the Internet.
  2. Click the Download button above.
  3. After reading the disclaimer, click Download. The Update_ILMEFR7V200.dat file will start downloading.
    Note: File Size: 853 541 120 bytes
  4. Save the file to the desktop of your computer (recommended).
    Note: Using the default settings of Google Chrome, the update file will be saved in the Downloads folder.

Step 2: Update the Software

  1. Connect the computer on which the update file is saved and the unit to the same network, and then turn the unit on.
  2. Display the Web App screen of the unit in a web browser on the computer.
    For details, see Accessing the Web App from a Web Browser in the Help Guide of the unit.
  3. Select MaintenanceInformationCamera and check Model Name and Version Number in the web menu.
  4. Select MaintenanceInformationCameraVersion Up in the web menu, press the Choose File button, and select the update file (Update_ILMEFR7V200.dat) that you downloaded.

    Notes:
    • Do not perform the following actions until the update has been completed.
      • Turning the unit off
      • Disconnecting the network
      • Closing the Web App screen (web browser)
    • If a message indicating that the update has failed is displayed, check the displayed description and try to update again.
  5. The following screen appears. Check the file name (Update_ILMEFR7V200.dat) that is displayed and press OK.
    The update will fail if no update is required. Check the software version of the unit again.
    A screen explaining Update will appear.
  6. The update file starts uploading. A progress bar is displayed during the upload process. Wait until uploading is completed.
  7. When uploading the update file ends, the Web App screen changes as shown below and the update starts. The POWER lamp blinks yellow during the update process.
    Notes:
    • Do not turn off the unit or disconnect the network during the update process.
    • The update process time will vary depending on your network environment.
    The message [Firmware version up has been started] is displayed.
  8. When the update process ends, the until will reboot automatically. Rebooting takes a few minutes. Leave the unit turned on and wait until the POWER lamp lights up green.

Step 3: Check the Software Version

  1. After the unit finishes rebooting, reload the page in the web browser.
    Note: If the setting value on the setting screen is not updated properly, delete the cache from the web browser.
  2. Select Settings tab → MaintenanceInformationCamera and check that Version Number is set to 2.00.
