How to Hide Your Phone Number When Making Calls (Android 9.0 or Higher)
Valid for: Android 9.0 or Higher
You can choose to hide your phone number so that it’s not displayed to the person you’re calling. This feature is available on most Android devices running Android 9.0 or higher.
Note: Some mobile operators may not support number hiding. If the option doesn’t appear on your device, contact your service provider.
Temporarily hide your number
To hide your number for a single call, enter #31# before the phone number you want to call.
Example: #31#123456789
Permanently hide your number in settings
You can hide your number for all outgoing calls by adjusting your Android call settings. Steps vary by Android version and whether your phone uses a Single SIM or Dual SIM.
For Single SIM devices
Android 10 or 11
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the menu icon (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calls.
- Tap Caller ID.
- Toggle the Caller ID switch to turn number hiding on or off.
Android 9
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the menu icon (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calls.
- Tap Additional settings → Caller ID → Hide number.
For Dual SIM devices
Android 12 or higher
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the menu icon (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calling accounts.
- Select the SIM card or account for which you want to hide your number.
- Tap Additional settings → Caller ID.
- Select Hide number.
Android 10 or 11
