Accessibility for Xperia smartphones - Android 15

    Xperia smartphones support the following accessibility features.

    You can access them from [Settings] → [Accessibility] (some features may be excluded).

    • These features are available on Xperia smartphones with Android 15.
      • To check your Android version, go to [Settings] → [About phone] → [Android version].
    • Some features might require app installation from Google Play, depending on the product and/or Android OS version.

    What accessibility features help with vision and visibility? 

    TalkBack

    Use your device without looking at the screen by receiving spoken feedback.

    Select to Speak

    Tap specific items on your screen to hear them read aloud.

    Text-to-speech output

    Set the speech rate, pitch and language for text-to-speech output.

    Font size

    Make the text on the screen smaller or larger.

    Display size

    Make items on your screen smaller or larger.

    Bold text

    Use bold font to improve visibility.

    Colour correction

    Adjust how colours are displayed on your device.

    Colour inversion

    Change your display to use a dark background.

    Remove animations

    Reduce animations while using your device.

    Large mouse cursor/
    Large mouse pointer

    Make the mouse pointer larger.

    High-contrast text

    Make text easier to read on your device.

    Extra dim

    Dim your screen beyond your phone's minimum brightness for more comfortable reading. 

    Dark theme

    Change your display to a dark background.

    Magnification

    Zoom in or magnify to better see your device's screen.

    Audio Description

    Hear a description of what's happening on screen in supported movies and shows.

    Voice Access

    Speak to Voice Access and control your device hands-free.

    What accessibility features help with hearing?

    Live Transcribe

    Show speech as text on your screen to participate in conversations around you.

    Sound Notifications

    Your phone will always be checking for sounds you want to be notified about.

    Mono audio

    Integrate audio channels during playback. Combine stereo channels into one for single-ear listening.

    Audio balance

    Adjust the left and right audio balance.

    Caption preferences

    Set the caption size, style and language.

    Live Caption

    Live Caption detects speech on your device and automatically generates captions.

    Note: Support varies depending on the product.

    Flash notifications

    Flash the camera light or the screen when you receive notifications or when the alarm sounds.

    Hearing devices

    Set up and manage ASHA and LE Audio HAP hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other amplification devices.

    Hearing aid compatibility (HAC)

    The device supports magnetic coupling with hearing aids. If using a hearing aid with T-coil, turn on "Hearing aid compatibility" in Hearing devices, or you can also find it in the [Phone] app under [Settings] → [Accessibility].

    Teletypewriter (TTY)

    You can use the Text Telephone (TTY) mode if connecting a teletypewriter via a 3.5mm audio jack.

    Real-time text (RTT)

    You can use Real-time text (RTT) to send text messages or generate captions over the phone.
