For NW-E99 owners, we offer MP3 File Manager Ver.1.2 Installer and Network Walkman driver.
MP3FileManager.exe, which is an executable file to launch MP3 File Manager software, and related files are pre-installed on the unit at the factory.
If the software and related files are accidentally erased by formatting, etc, you can restore them using this MP3 File Manager Installer.
Please read carefully the following instructions to make sure to execute the program properly.
These drivers support the following product:

They have the following system requirements:
- OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 / Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 / Windows XP Media Center Edition / Windows XP Professional / Windows XP Home Edition / Windows 2000 Professional / Windows Millennium Edition / Windows 98 Second Edition
- CPU: Pentium II 400MHz or higher
- RAM: 64MB or more
- HDD: 5MB or more
- Display: 800 × 600 16 bit or more
- USB port Supports USB (Previously called USB1.1)
Install
Please follow the steps below to download the MP3 File Manager Installer or/and PA_Driver.exe:
- Create a folder to store the downloaded files on your hard disc. In the procedure below, we assume that this folder is created as C:\mp3_Inst.
- Click "Download"; below to accept the disclaimer and download the following files:
- Driver: PA_driver.exe (if necessary)
If SonicStage has been installed in your computer (using the bundled CD-ROM), you do not need to download PA_Driver.exe
- MP3 File Manager:
- MP3FileManager_1.2_Update_ENU.exe (English) or
- After the download is completed, select [Views]-[Details] in the Explorer to check the file size. If the file size is not the same as the file size showing above, try to download the file again.
- Driver: PA_driver.exe (if necessary)
- Install the driver (if necessary):
If SonicStage is not installed in your computer using the bundled CD-ROM, install PA_driver.exe before installing MP3 File Manager Installer. Follow the steps below.
- Quit all applications.
- Click Start and click Run.
- Browse to C:\mp3_Inst\PA_Driver.exe and click OK. Then, the "InstallShield Wizard" window appears.
- Follow the onscreen message.
- The message Setup has finished installing Personal Audio Driver on your computer is displayed when the update is finished. Then, click [Finish]. After installing the PA_Driver.exe, the unit can be connected to the computer.
- MP3 File Manager Installer:
- . Quit all software.
- Connect the unit to your computer with the supplied dedicated USB cable.
- Click Start and then click Run.
- Browse to
- C:\mp3_Inst\MP3FileManager_1.2 _Update_ENU.exe"
- . Follow the dialog and go to the next screen.
- Select the drive ("Removable Disk (E:)") in the drop-down list box and go to the next screen.
- A drive letter "(E:)" varies depending on a computer environment.
- If "Removable Disk (E:)" does not appear in the drop-down list box, disconnect the unit and connect it again to the computer.
- Follow the onscreen message.
- The screen is displayed "MP3 File Manager" installation complete.
- After installation, check if the "MP3FileManager.exe" software and related files in the "ESYS" folder are successfully installed into the Network Walkman, follow the steps below:
- Open "My Computer", and double-click the "Removable Disk (E:)" to show inside the built-in flash memory of the unit.
- Double-click the "ESYS" folder to open it. If all of the following files are stored in the "ESYS" folder, the MP3 File Manager software is successfully installed:
