Thank you for your continued interest in Sony products.
Sony is always concerned about quality and customer satisfaction and therefore is offering a firmware update to version 1.05 for MHS-TS10 / MHS-TS20 / MHS-TS20K bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap cameras. Please refer to the "Download and Installation" section of this page on how to download and install the firmware update.

Confirm the firmware version of your bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera
Follow the instructions below to check the firmware version of your bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera.
- Make sure your bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera is turned off.
- Press the "Movie" button(*1), then press the "ON/OF" button(*2) simultaneously for about 3 seconds.
- The camera displays the firmware version between the "Self-Timer" and the "Playback" icons for about 4 seconds.
The location of the firmware version on the screen is different depending on the camera orientation as illustrated below.
- If the firmware version is Ver.1.05 or higher, the update is not required.
- If the firmware version is Ver.1.04 or lower, you should perform the firmware update.
Applicable Models
- MHS-TS10 / MHS-TS20 / MHS-TS20K with firmwre version 1.04 or lower
Improvements
This utility updates the MHS-TS10 / TS20 /TS20K firmware to version 1.05 and provides the following benefits:
- Improvement of the user interface for the "Format" function;
- Improvement of the user interface for the touch panel operation;
- Improvement of the user interface for the focus function.
Install
Important notes:
- Before performing the firmware update, make sure your bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera is fully charged.
Step 1: download the firmware update
- Make sure that you are logged on as a user with administrative rights.
- After reading the disclaimer, click the [Accept] button at the bottom of the page.
- The download of the [FIRMWARE.BIN] file (9,89 MB (10.375.168 bytes)) will start.
- Save the file to the desktop of your computer (recommended).
Step 2: Connect the bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera to the computer with the supplied USB connection support cable
For Windows:
- Connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB connection support cable.
"USB Mode / Mass Storage" appears on the LCD screen. - The computer will detect two drives as follows:
Note: drive letters might be different depending on your computer environment.- "BLOGGIE(D:)"
- "Bloggie Software(E:)" or "BLOGGIE_SW(E:)"
Note: if "LUN Settings" (found in your bloggie™ touch under(Settings) --> [LUN Settings]) is set to "Single", the computer will only detect one drive as follows:
- "BLOGGIE(D:)"
For Mac OS:
- Connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB connection support cable.
"USB Mode / Mass Storage" appears on the LCD screen. - The computer will detect two drives as follows:
- "BLOGGIE"
- "BLOGGIE_SW"
Note: if "LUN Settings" (found in your bloggie™ touch under(Settings) --> [LUN Settings]) is set to "Single", the computer will only detect one drive as follows:
- "BLOGGIE"
Step 3: Copy the firmware to the internal memory of the bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera
For Windows:
- If your computer detected 2 drives at Step 2:
- Double-click the drive which has the smallest drive letter.
("BLOGGIE(D:)" in the example provided at Step 2)
Note: drive letters might be different depending on your computer environment. - Copy the downloaded "FIRMWARE.BIN" file from the desktop of your computer to that drive.
- Double-click the drive which has the smallest drive letter.
- If your computer detected only 1 drive at Step 2:
- Double-click the drive that has been detected.
("Bloggie(D:)" in the example provided at Step 2) - Copy the downloaded "FIRMWARE.BIN" file from the desktop of your computer to that drive.
- Double-click the drive that has been detected.
- If your computer detected 2 drives at Step 2:
- Disconnect the camera from the computer by following the below procedure:
- Double-click
on the task tray.
- Click
(USB Mass Storage Device) --> [Stop].
- Confirm the device on the confirmation window, then click [OK].
- Click [OK].
- The device is disconnected.
Note: Step 4 is unnecessary for Windows XP.
- Double-click
- Disconnect the USB connection support cable from the camera.
For Mac OS:
- If your computer detected 2 drives at Step 2:
- Double-click the drive labelled as "BLOGGIE".
- Copy the downloaded "FIRMWARE.BIN" file from the desktop of your computer to that drive.
- If your computer detected only 1 drive at Step 2:
- Double-click the drive that has been detected.
- Copy the downloaded "FIRMWARE.BIN" file from the desktop of your computer to that drive.
- If your computer detected 2 drives at Step 2:
- Disconnect the camera from the computer by following the below procedure:
- Drag and drop the icon of the drive to the "Trash" icon before disconnecting.
- Drag and drop the icon of the drive to the "Trash" icon before disconnecting.
- Disconnect the USB connection support cable from the camera.
Step 4: Start the firmware update
- Confirm that the battery icon
at the upper-right corner of the LCD sccreen is full.
- Turn off the camera by pressing the "ON/OFF" button.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button again to turn on the camera.
- The firmware update will start automatically.
- An animated message appears on the LCD screen as illustrated below.
- After 10 seconds, the camera will reboot automatically.
Note: Do not turn off the camera while updating the firmware, or the camera may be dammaged.
Step 5: Check that your bloggie™ touch Mobile HD snap camera works correctly and confirm the firmware version is 1.05
- Turn on your camera and confirm the system starts correctly.
- Check the firmware version is 1.05 by following the procedure detailled at the top of the page under the "About this update" section.

If your camera does not start up anymore after performing the firmware update, please contact Sony
