- Enables "Fast Hybrid AF" function. - Without this lens update, the camera will use the normal contrast-detection AF even if Fast Hybrid AF is selected.
Note: The firmware of NEX-5R or NEX-6 camera also needs to be updated in addition to this firmware update.

This firmware update is not available for download. The update for this lens is provided by Sony as a free of charge repair service.
Please confirm the model name of your lens and its current firmware version. If firmware version is Ver.01, please contact a Sony Customer Information Centre.
Follow the instructions below to check the firmware version of your lens.
- Select [Menu] -> [Setup] -> [Version] on the camera
- The firmware version is displayed. - If the firmware version of your lens is Ver.02 or later, the update is not required.
