How to disable "Demo mode" on portable and home audio devices

    IMPORTANT: If any model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product.

    Sony stereo systems will enter the Demo Mode the first time you power on the system or if you do not operate the unit shortly after turning on the power to the system.

    See below for how to disable the Demo Mode depending on your model:
    Note: Each time you press the button, the display mode changes.

    MHC-GT3
    1. Turn the power to the system OFF.
    2. Press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears.

    For Demo Mode:

    1. Turn the power to the system OFF.
    2. Press the DISPLAY button on the remote control repeatedly until the Demo Mode display disappears.

    For Demo Party Light:

     

    You can stop Demo Party Light by pressing the PARTY LIGHT button on the unit or the remote control.

    1. Turn the power to the system OFF.
    2. Press the SPEAKER LIGHT button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears.

    Note: When you press LIGHTImageduring the standby mode, or when you disconnect and reconnect the AC power cord, the system enters the demonstration mode.

    GTK-XB60During the demonstration, press and hold the W.Party Chain - Light button for more than three seconds. The demonstration will turn off and the system will go into standby mode.

    Note: if you press and hold the W. Party Chain - Light button for 3 seconds when the system is in standby mode, or, if you unplug and plug the power cord back in, the demonstration mode will turn on again.
