LinkBuds Clip (WF-LC900) | Using the Sound Connect app
When your LinkBuds Clip are connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth and the Sony | Sound Connect app is installed, you can easily adjust audio and device settings.
When you open the app, an image of your earbuds and “LinkBuds Clip” appear at the top centre of the screen. Below this, you can check the remaining battery level, Bluetooth codec name, and DSEE status when DSEE is set to On.
You can control the following functions from the My Device tab:
- Listening mode
- Equalizer
- Connect to 2 devices simultaneously
- Connected devices
- Playback controls
- Device settings
Tip: Tap Edit at the bottom of the screen to choose which functions are displayed in My Device.
Functions available under [Sound / Volume]
Go to Device Settings and tap Sound / Volume. From here you can check the current settings for the following functions:
- Listening mode
- Equalizer
- Find Your Equalizer
- DSEE
- 360 Reality Audio
Tip: Tap the > (right-facing arrow) next to each function to change its settings.
Listening mode
This setting lets you switch the sound according to the content or listening situation.
- Standard
- Voice Boost
- Sound Leakage Reduction
Suitable for a wide range of content and listening situations, with adjustable Equalizer and DSEE settings.
Raises the volume of voices in content, making it useful in noisy environments.
Suppresses high frequencies to help reduce sound leakage to your surroundings.
Equalizer
This setting lets you adjust the sound using the available presets:
- Manual
- Custom 1
- Custom 2
- Off
- Heavy
- Clear
- Hard
- Heavy
Tip: If you select Manual, Custom 1, or Custom 2, tap the (gear) in the bottom right and adjust the sliders to your preferred sound.
Find Your Equalizer
This setting helps you find a sound balance that suits your preferences. You can save your chosen sound balance as Custom.
Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the Equalizer settings.
DSEE
This setting restores high-frequency sound often lost in compressed audio, such as streaming playback, MP3 files, or Bluetooth transmission codecs, for a more natural, spacious sound closer to CD quality.
360 Reality Audio
This setting optimises supported music based on your ear shape for a more immersive, spatial sound experience.

Functions available under [Connection]
Go to Device Settings and tap Connection. From here you can check the current settings for the following functions:
- Connect to 2 devices simultaneously
- Bluetooth connection quality
Tip: Tap the > (right-facing arrow) next to each function to change its settings.
Connect to 2 devices simultaneously
This setting lets you connect the LinkBuds Clip to two devices at the same time.
To switch the device used for music playback, tap the device you want to use in the connected device list. You can also tap the (three-dot menu) next to a device name to pin it.
Bluetooth connection quality
This setting lets you choose whether to prioritise sound quality or connection stability.
Tip: Select Priority on Stable Connection if the sound skips or the connection is unstable. This setting can help reduce signal interruptions and wireless interference.
Functions available under [Operation]
Go to Device Settings and tap Operation. From here you can check the current settings for the following functions:
- Change the tap operation function
- Tap sensitivity settings
Tip: Tap the > (right-facing arrow) next to each function to change its settings.
Change the tap operation function
This setting lets you change the functions assigned to the left and right sides individually.
Tap the > (right-facing arrow) next to the currently assigned function, then select your preferred option from the list.
Note: Quick Access requires setup before it can be assigned.
Tap sensitivity settings
These settings adjust how sensitive the LinkBuds Clip are to tap controls.
Tip: If tap controls are difficult to use, try setting the sensitivity to High.
Functions available under [Change the tap operation function]
Go to Device Settings and tap Change the tap operation function to assign the Quick Access function.
Tap the Left or Right, then go to Operation method to choose what happens when you:
- Double tap either side of your LinkBuds Clip
- Triple tap either side of your LinkBuds Clip
Functions available under [System]
Go to Device Settings and tap System. From here you can check the main software version of the LinkBuds Clip and the current settings for the following functions:
- Automatic software download
- Notification sounds and voice guidance
- Service linking
Tip: Tap the > (right-facing arrow) next to each function to change its settings.
Automatic software download
This setting lets you enable or disable the function that automatically downloads main software updates when they become available.
If turned on, you can choose either Always update automatically or Automatically download only when connected to Wi-Fi.
Notification sounds and voice guidance
This setting lets you change the settings for notification sound volume and voice guidance.
For the notification sound volume, move the slider to raise or lower the volume. For voice guidance, tap ▼ (down arrow), select your preferred language, then tap OK.
Service linking
This setting connects the app with compatible services. Some functions and services require this setting to be turned on.
