Subwoofer Easy Connection explained (DSX Series)

What is the Subwoofer Easy Connection feature?

If you own a Digital media player from the DSX series, you might have noticed the Subwoofer Easy Connection feature in your device's manual, as shown in the image below.

Subwoofer Easy Connection lets you can connect a Subwoofer directly to the Head unit, without having to use an external amplifier for your sound system. The power amplifiers used in the DSX-Axx models are powerful and stable. This makes them capable of driving a Subwoofer, which requires more power than a regular speaker.

What is the difference between Subwoofer Easy Connection and conventional set-ups?

• Subwoofer Easy Connection is based on the same type of connection as the one you'd use for a standard rear speaker. The main difference is that the device connected to the Head unit is a Subwoofer, which reproduces low sound frequencies only.
• Unlike conventional units with rear-speaker output, the amplifiers used in the DSX series are powerful and stable, which allows them to drive a passive Subwoofer continuously.
• No activation is required when using a passive Subwoofer in the Subwoofer Easy Connection set-up.

Things to note when using Subwoofer Easy Connection

• In this set-up, it's not possible to adjust settings such as: Phase, LPF (Low-Pass Frequency) or Sub-Woofer level.
• You can use the Fader setting in the menu to adjust the volume balance between the Subwoofer and the Front speaker.
• [Optional] You can improve LPF (Low-Pass Frequency) by adding a low-pass filter between the Amplifier output and the Subwoofer.
