How do I transfer data on my smartphone to the SD card?

    You can transfer data from the internal storage to a memory card or by using Files, a file manager application. Depending on your Xperia device, the Files application may be pre-installed on your device. Alternatively, you can also download a third-party file manager app* from Google Play.

    To transfer data to an SD card of newer Android versions

    Go to Settings → Storage → Transfer to SD
     

    To Transfer data (Media file / Documents) using the files application to an SD card on older Android versions 

    1. Find and tap the Files app ICN-SONY-FILES. It's sometimes placed in the Other folder on the Applications screen.
    2. If the device has an SD card, tap the three dots menuICN-MENU-DOTS-low→ Show internal storage. If not, go to step 3.
    3. Tap  ICN-IN-APP-MENU-low.
    4. Tap INTERNAL MEMORY icon_Files app Oreo to browse the internal storage, SD card icon_Files app Oreo  SD Card (if available) to browse an external memory card or Drive (if available) to access files on your Google Drive.
    5. Touch and hold a file to highlight it. You can then share SHARE ICON the file, or tap ICN-MENU-DOTS-lowand then move or copy the file to another location.
