Xperia Companion can’t be opened on macOS error message

When installing Xperia Companion on your iOS device, you might come across the following error message:

“Xperia Companion” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. You will need to change your security settings on your Apple device".

How to change the security settings to open Xperia Companion

1. Open System Preferences and go to Security & Privacy.
2. Click on the General tab.
3. Click the lock icon on the bottom left of the window and enter your password.
4. In the same window, click Open Anyway → Open.
