What is Cinema Pro? (Xperia 5)

Cinema Pro is a premium video recording feature, co-developed with Sony’s cinema camera engineers and exclusive to the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5. It delivers some of the functionality and feel of a professional cinema camera. This includes a choice of cinematic frame rates and resolutions, as well as preset Looks that bring out the mood and expression you are aiming for when shooting a scene. Cinema Pro lets you shoot and store your clips in projects, making it easy to keep consistency in settings and Looks between takes.

At launch, the Xperia 5 features Cinema Pro with the following improvements:

• Video editing - trim and merge clips.
• Focus pull (smooth shift between two selected focus depths).
• Stereo audiometer and audio level adjustment.
• Increased flexibility in project handling.
• A wider selection of viewfinder frame lines.
• Auto White Balance lock.
• Clip flagging while recording.
• Updated UI layout resembling that of Sony VENICE professional cinematic cameras.
