How do I adjust the aperture value of the DSC-RX camera while recording a movie?

Changing the aperture value while recording movies may produce a clicking sound. This is normal operation. If the clicking sound is affecting the quality of the recorded movies, we recommend to use an external microphone, set Audio Recording to Off, or adjust Audio Rec Level.

Adjust the aperture value of the camera while recording a movie

  1. On the camera, set the Mode dial to Movie Icon(Movie).
  2. Press the Fn button.
  3. Select Aperture Priority(Aperture Priority) or Manual Exposure(Manual Exposure).
  4. Using the Aperture ring, set your desired aperture value while recording the movie.

Set the Audio Recording to Off

  • Set the Aperture Click Switch to OFF.
  • Set the Audio Recording setting to Off.
    1. On the camera, press the MENU button.
    2. Select Camera Settings.
    3. Select Audio Recording.
    4. Select Off.

Adjust the Audio Rec Level setting

  • Adjust the Audio Rec Level setting.
    1. On the camera, press the MENU button.
    2. Select Camera Settings.
    3. Select Audio Record Level.
    4. Select your preferred setting.
