Under what conditions will Phase Detection AF not operate?

Though Contrast AF can be used, Phase Detection AF will not function under the following conditions.

• When the subject is not within the Phase Detection AF Area
• When a Fast Hybrid AF incompatible lens is attached
• When using a mount adapter
• When the surrounding is dark
• When the aperture value is greater than F11 for ILCE-5100 and ILCE-6000 models
• When the aperture value is greater than F6.3 for NEX-5T, NEX-5R, and NEX-6 models
• When the aperture value is greater than F8.0 for ILCE-7 and ILCE-7M2 models
• When shooting a subject without contrast such as a blue sky or a white wall
