Can the built-in flash be used as a wireless control to trigger an external flash?

The built-in flash cannot be used as a wireless control to trigger an external flash. However, you can attach a flash with a wireless flash controller function such as the HVL-F20M, HVL-F60M, HVL-F43M, HVL-F20AM, HVL-F58AM, or HVL-F43AM.

IMPORTANT:

• The HVL-F20AM, HVL-F58AM, and HVL-F43AM require the ADP-MAA shoe adapter to connect with the camera
• If using a NEX-7 series camera, the HVL-F60M and HVL-F20M require the ADP-AMA shoe adapter to connect with the camera

NOTE: Make sure the flash setting of the camera is set to WL.
