Basic table top sound bar. Simple to connect, but even though we were fitting Sony soundbar to a Sony tv getting the settings right took a bit of fiddling. On good point, once it up and running you can put the remote in a drawer as the tv remotes handles everything automatically.

Purchased two weeks ago. My heart sank when I saw the instructions….there were so many and I had little idea what they meant! BUT once all the correct cables plugged in - an arc hdmi is a must, the TV and sound box did their thing and connected to each other, without me doing anything. All I had to do was tell it to focus on voices, I don’t even need the remote controller as the TV one is now connected, as if by magic. So very happy, deaf ish hubby very happy, hopefully it will last a good 10 yrs, sound quality is great.

Asked the Sony rep in Currys for an external speaker to add to my recently purchased Sony 55" tv, to be located away from the TV and onto the rear wall via Bluetooth. Unfortunately the speakers on the TV switch off when switching on this soundbar, so it appears you can't have both on together.

Please try the steps below and test again:
1. Press volume + and check the volume level.
2. Check that all the cables and cords of the system and the connected device are firmly inserted.
3. Use a high-speed HDMI cable.
4. If the connected device supports the up-sampling feature, you need to turn it off.
5. Connect the soundbar to different devices.
6. Try playing different contents.
7. Unplug the soundbar from the mains for 1 minute, then plug it back in.

Doesn’t always Sync

Have been using it for 4 months. mmmm and still not 100% happy. 50% of the time the sound from the sound bar doesn’t always sync with the tv. Turning the tv and sound bar off and on again usually fixes the problem, but it happens many times when the tv/ soundbar don’t sync. Disappointing TV, Soundbar, HDMI all Sony?

The soundbar offers clarity and immersive surround effects, making movies feel more engaging. However, in certain situations, you may notice a slight audio delay compared to the picture.
We recommend following the below steps to fix your issue:

2- Remove the soundbar's power cable from the wall socket and then plug it back in to complete the reset process.

I bought this sound bar to replace my surround sound system that gave up working, although it sounds less tinny than just television alone, it is no match for the surround sound system I had, but it’s cheaper than buying a new surround system, will just be a stop gap until I replace my surround sound system.

Having moved our TV from standing on a cabinet with a sound system on the shelf below to hanging on a wall bracket I needed something more compact to improve the tv sound but without spending a fortune. After looking at a variety of sound bars at different prices decided to go for the Sony , it turned out to be a good choice. The width is great being slightly smaller than the Sony tv and the sound quality is excellent and suits our tastes, although it can be tweaked to suit. For the price it’s a good choice, would recommend this Sony product

I was looking for a reasonably priced sound bar to improve the sound from our Sony TV, particularly speech. This Sony sound bar appeared to fit the bill. It is supplied with an optical lead but would integrate better using an HDMI lead which I purchased separately. The sound bar worked fine with the optical lead but required the use of two remotes. However, I could not connect at all using an HDMI lead in the eArc port and I was thinking of returning the sound bar as faulty. I found that sound bar would work if I unplugged everything else that was using HDMI ports. After research I found that there was a conflict with a Humax (recorder) I have plugged into another HDMI port and the sound bar would not connect properly if the Humax was plugged in. I eventually purchased an adapter for the HDMI lead to the Humax to resolve the conflict. The sound bar now works as it should, the bar turns on and off with the television and volume can be controlled with the TV remote. The bar does improve the sound from the TV giving a slightly deeper bass and highlighting speech where required.

Bought this a while ago due to poor sound of LG tv. It was a good purchase, easy to set up and quality sound o low, medium and loud volume. It has an optical “cable” however an HDMI cable purchased separately super-cedes this for quality and also using this allows the tv remote and app to control the soundbar. I can’t praise this enough.

Sound Bar definitely helps me better hear the spoken dialog on my Sony TV. However the optical cable provided with the sound bar is very very difficult to fit into the Sound Bar. It took me forever. The input jack is in a very bad location. Please relocate the input jack!!

Sound quality is good but, don’t expect bass, if you want that, go for one with a floor speaker included, Bluetooth is rubbish on all soundbars, with sound delay and connection dropout. Get an HDMI/OPTi cable to connect it.

I bought this to enhance our television sound and in that respect, it is significantly better. The only problem we have is that the films we watch have an audio set up for a cinema and the distinction between the dialogue audio and the incidental music is quite stark. There is a fair amount of adjusting the volume control to ensure matrimonial harmony.
