Complex gear-driven setup is no longer required. Attach the included Control knob to the monitor for precise focus control of compatible Cinema Line cameras, even from a distance. View footage on the Lens Control Page and operate intuitively via wired or wireless connections. Ergonomic design, smooth torque, and high resolution enable accurate control, with power supplied directly from the monitor.
The focus indicator shows at the monitor edge keeping the image clear. It links with Control knob operation for precise focus pulling and supports mechanical stop settings and focus point marking as needed.
Before or during recording, use monitor touch focus or touch tracking based on your FX camera settings. Switching between manual and autofocus as needed gives you greater shooting flexibility.
With a compatible lens attached, the Lens Control Page screen lets you zoom in and out via button controls or touch operation and adjust zoom speed. This supports smooth zooming suited to what and how you’re shooting.
Intuitive button operation gives you fast access to any settings screen. In addition to a HOME button for instant access to the BIG6 screen, ITEM keys 1 to 6 at the display top and bottom correspond to individual feature pages. The REC button that syncs with the camera body, ASSIGN 1 to 4 buttons, and a Multi-function dial all support fluid operation on set.

The BIG6 (HOME screen) brings together six frequently used shooting parameters: FPS (frame rate), ISO, Shutter (speed, angle), ND filter or IRIS (aperture), Look, and White Balance. Touch each parameter to check or change its variable/fixed state. The Time Counter and Audio Level Meter are shown on the same screen.
While connected to a compatible camera, icons and shooting information are shown neatly outside the main image area so they don't obstruct the footage. The Multi-function dial lets you switch quickly between information display screens.
The monitor, when not used as a camera control device, can serve as an on-camera monitor connected via SDI (DP7 only) or HDMI input. Screen orientation can also be adjusted with the menu, allowing for a flexible setup.
A full-HD (1920 x 1080) touch-enabled LCD panel delivers brightness of up to 2,000 cd/m², so footage stays clearly visible even in bright outdoor environments.
Featuring Sony's professional video monitor-grade colour calibration technology, each unit is individually calibrated at the factory and continuously compensates for colour temperature drift during operation, delivering reliable colour accuracy in the field.
When shooting in S-Log3 for post-production, applying an LUT to the monitor image makes it easier to visualise the intended final look. Up to 16 LUT files can be imported in addition to the 6 built-in presets.
Touch operation across the wide screen supports menu navigation and touch focus. Intuitive controls let you smoothly perform auxiliary operations while shooting. Double-tap anywhere on the shooting screen to zoom in up to 6x around the point for precise focus checking. Pinch to zoom and swipe to move the zoomed area. Button controls work the same way alongside touch control.
The Scopes Page provides precise on-screen monitoring tools, such as Waveform monitor, Vector Scope, False Color, and Zebra display for managing exposure and colour on set. Additional assist functions, including Aspect marker, De-Squeeze, and Peaking display, support accurate framing and focus control.
Control is possible via Ethernet and USB connections.
Using a third party wireless transmission unit, you can wirelessly connect to the shooting camera and control lenses with low latency, and transmit video at up to 4K resolution.
BP-U35 and BP-U70 batteries can be attached directly to the rear of monitor. Power is also supported via DC IN connector or USB Type-C® (PD). The hot-swap function allows safe battery changes or power switching without interrupting shooting.
The housing incorporates a heat-dissipating design, so you can use it with confidence during extended shooting. It includes a built-in cooling fan, with selectable modes including Auto, which prioritizes stable operation, and a quieter mode that reduces fan noise.
An external grip for remote operation is included. This offers a secure hold and lets you operate the control knob steadily, even when handheld. The four corners of the monitor unit also feature strap holes for secure carrying and stable handling during shooting.
The monitor unit's aluminum body is lightweight yet durable enough for demanding on-set use. Each side (top, bottom, left, and right) has one 1/4-20 UNC screw hole to securely attach optional transmitters.
Designed for use in many different shooting environments, including outdoors, offering dust and moisture resistance.
Sony's Road to Zero plan aims at a zero environmental footprint by 2050. Sony Group manufacturing facilities run on 100% renewable energy. We are working towards the use of non-plastic packaging materials that provide ample protection against shock and impact. We also use paper product bags to further reduce the plastic use and minimise environmental stress.
