RX10 V Photo Gallery
With a 1.0-type image sensor and 24-600 mm zoom range, the RX10 V inherits the uniqueness of the RX10 while incorporating the latest α technology for enhanced performance and outstanding image quality.
A ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-600 mm (25x optical zoom) F2.4-4.0 lens with eight ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, including two aspherical ED elements, delivers stunning image quality.
A 1.0-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor with 20.1 megapixels delivers detailed rendering with natural gradations. Stacked sensor architecture boosts signal processing speed.
The BIONZ XR engine delivers an ideal mix of noise reduction and outstanding image quality especially at mid to high sensitivities. Advanced algorithms ensure optimum exposure with natural colour and gradients.
Focus as close as 3 cm at wide angle (0.42x max. magnification) or 72 cm at telephoto (0.49x max. magnification) without complex focus modes, for impressively detailed close-ups and macro shots of small subjects.
The updated D-Range Optimizer (DRO) balances bright highlights and dark shadows and offers a wider range of strength settings, up to Lv8. At higher levels, DRO lifts shadow areas in strong backlight, delivering more natural-looking portrait shots.
Creative Look makes it easy to create visual moods for stills or movies right in the camera. 12 presets can be used as-is or edited to create custom looks that can be saved for later use.
Shoot up to 30 fps bursts with full AF/AE tracking and no viewfinder blackout. Up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second ensure that important action can be captured with confidence. Silent shooting allows you to shoot with no shutter sound.
Fast Hybrid AF combines phase-detection AF with contrast AF. 575 phase detection AF points cover approximately 70.6% of the image area for precise focus even on small or active subjects.
A dedicated AI processing unit reliably recognises [Human], [Animal], [Bird], [Insect], [Car/Train] and [Airplane] subjects. An [Auto] mode can automatically select the subject type.
With an advanced AI processing unit, the RX10 V reliably recognises human eyes as well as body and head position, making it possible to accurately lock onto and track a wide range of subjects, even when the subject faces away from the camera or the face is partially obscured.
Real-time Tracking accurately focuses on and tracks a selected subject when the shutter button is half-pressed. If [Touch Tracking] is engaged, touching a subject on the monitor will instantly select it for tracking.
Record detailed high-frame-rate 4K 120p footage that can be processed for up to 5x slow-motion playback. The S&Q mode plays video at slow or high speed in the camera.
The RX10 V offers an impressive range of video recording formats, including 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and All-Intra compression.
Active Mode stabilisation uses highly accurate gyro sensors and optimised image stabilisation algorithms to provide a highly effective blend of electronic and optical stabilisation for video recording, for example for shooting while walking.
A built-in digital audio interface applied to the Multi Interface (MI) Shoe™ allows connection to compatible Sony microphones (sold separately) for high-quality digital input and recording. Two or four channels can be recorded.
Sony’s S-Cinetone picture profile delivers cinematic and natural mid-tones for healthy-looking skin, plus soft colours and gorgeous highlights, without the need for colour grading.
The S-Log3 gamma curve helps to maintain smooth, natural gradations from shadows to mid-grey (18% grey), making it easier to grade for high image quality in post-production. S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine colour spaces are supported. Imported user LUTs (.cube) can be used as alternatives to the preset picture profiles (PPLUT 1 through 4) to provide the final graded output.

A 3.68 million-dot Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder with 0.78x magnification delivers high resolution, high contrast, and easier viewing. The viewfinder frame rate can be set to [Standard] (60 fps) or [High] (120 fps). You can also now save up to three custom settings for shooting information display, and display the histogram and level indicator simultaneously.
The large touch-sensitive high-resolution 3.0-type LCD monitor has approximately 1.62 million dots for accurate viewing and focusing. It also tilts upward and downward for comfortable shooting from a wide range of positions.
Based on feedback and α series evolution, we’ve significantly improved the grip contours. Fingers naturally follow the body line, and buttons have been refined for enhanced feel and response.
Sony’s high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery improves battery life by more than 50% compared to the RX10 IV. USB Power Delivery (PD) is supported, allowing a mobile battery to be connected via the USB Type-C® port for power or charging.
Body seams as well as main buttons and dials feature a sealed structure that effectively prevents intrusion of dust and moisture in challenging outdoor conditions.
Built-in Wi-Fi has been updated with 5 GHz communication (IEEE 802.11ac) in addition to conventional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. 5 GHz Wi-Fi offers more stable data transfer with less interference.
A SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen2) USB Type-C terminal allows fast USB data transfer for PC Remote shooting, power delivery, and image backup. Movie transfer and transfer to memory card are also supported.
In addition to live streaming at up to 4K 30p via a USB (UVC/UAC) computer connection, wired LAN allows 4K 30p streaming while simultaneously recording to a memory card.
Creators' App is a smartphone application for file transfer, remote shooting, cloud storage management and more.
Imaging Edge Desktop is a desktop application that enhances the quality and efficiency of production work such as remote shooting and RAW development.
Sony’s Road to Zero plan aims at a zero environmental footprint by 2050. Our durable, high-quality recycled plastic material SORPLAS™ is used as much as possible to reduce stress on the environment without compromising performance. More than 23% of this product is made of recycled plastic, including SORPLAS. Additionally, our facilities run on 100% renewable energy.
We are working towards the use of non-plastic packaging materials that provide ample protection against shock and impact. We ship the RX10 V in a plastic-free package made of our Original Blended Material that can be recycled as paper.. We also use plant-based non-woven fabric product bags to further reduce plastic use and minimise environmental stress.
A Screen Reader that reads most menu screen text aloud, menu magnifier, [Mode Dial Control Set] function, and others make operation easier for all users. Real-time Recognition AF for a wide range of subjects, intuitive touch tracking control, and more contribute to making photography and moviemaking available to everyone.
