Sony Europe has announced participation in the new ‘Waste Age’ exhibition at the Design Museum, London. Running until 20th February 2022 the exhibition will explore the role of design in the current environmental crisis and how design can help shape a better future.
Sony’s Design Centre Europe has created an interactive installation entitled ‘Life from Light’ aimed at connecting visitors with the hidden life of a forest. An intuitive experience of a rich world where things grow and rot has been created, to show how the circle of life revolves. As visitors move across the screen, organic life lights up in sync with their movement, accompanied by a responsive soundtrack by sound artist Takahisa Mitsumori.
The exhibit will also feature some of Sony’s creative efforts with examples of environmentally sustainable materials it has developed:
TriporousTM – A sustainable material made from rice husks with unique functionality.
Original Blended Material – A sustainable paper material made from bamboo, sugar cane fibre, and post-consumer recycled paper.
