Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check to see if the problem is solved after completing each step.
When the LED indicator is lighting or blinking
Refer to The BRAVIA TV is turned on, but the screen is blank and the LED indicator is lighting or blinking .
A. Make sure the AC power cord (mains lead) is properly plugged in.
- Make sure that the power cord (mains lead) is properly connected to the BRAVIA TV terminal.
- If the TV model is supplied with AC power adaptor, check the connection between the AC power adaptor and power cord (mains lead) as well.
- Make sure that the power cord (mains lead) is properly plugged in to the mains socket on the wall.
NOTE: Do not use any power strips and plug the power cord (mains lead) directly into a wall mains socket.

B. Check if it improves by unplugging and plugging the AC power cord (mains lead) (resetting).
Internal processing of the BRAVIA TV may take time or go wrong due on the network service/data broadcast/external devices.
When the symptoms are caused by these external factors, it will improve by unplugging and plugging the AC power cord (mains lead) then your BRAVIA TV may work properly.
- Turn off the BRAVIA TV.
- Unplug the AC power cord (mains lead) from the wall outlet.
- Plug the AC power cord (mains lead) after leaving it unplugged for 2 minutes.
- Turn on the BRAVIA TV.
C. Check if the BRAVIA TV is turned on by pressing the power button on the BRAVIA TV (not the button on the remote).
D. To verify whether the influence is due to the external devices connected to the BRAVIA TV, remove the cables (USB, wired LAN, HDMI, antenna (aerial) cables) except the AC power cord (mains lead), then check if this symptom occur.

E. Check if it improves by setting [Idle TV Standby] to [OFF].
When the Idle TV Standby function is activated, the BRAVIA TV will turn off automatically due to the monitor idle time.
If any other option other than OFF (e.g. 1h) is selected in Settings* → System Settings → Eco → Idle TV Standby, change the option to OFF.
*NOTE: For Android Oreo (OSV-O), the settings icon is located in the top right-hand corner
F. Check if it improves by setting [On Timer] or [Sleep Timer] to [OFF].
When the On Timer or Sleep Timer function is activated, the BRAVIA TV will turn off automatically after the preset period.
Check the following settings from Settings* → System Settings → Clock/Timers.
Set On Timer to OFF.
If ON is selected, the BRAVIA TV turns on automatically at the preset time, and then turns off automatically after the period preset in Duration.
- Set Sleep Timer to OFF.
If a setting other than OFF is selected, the BRAVIA TV turns off automatically after the preset time.
G. Check if the TV switches itself OFF immediately after switching ON by hiding the remote control sensor
To verify whether the malfunction is due to the remote control (not the BRAVIA TV), check if this symptom occurs by blocking the light by covering the remote control sensor on the BRAVIA TV by your hand.
NOTE: For BRAVIA TVs sold before 2012, the remote control sensor can be found at the IR symbol at the bottom of the BRAVIA TV.
